About Us

Our Story

Grace of Calvary Church was founded in January 2011 by Jose Luis & Cindy Pesina. They were the first successful church plant sent out from Calvary Chapel Rosarito. Cindy had been serving with orphans and children in Tijuana since 2006 and met Jose Luis when he graduated from Bible college.

With the help of many short-term mission teams and other ministry partners, we have been a light in the community and the Lord used teams to build our building where many people have come to know and put their faith in Jesus Christ.

Pastor Daniel Anaya and his wife, Luz joined the ministry in 2016 are now leading the church and live in the community. The have a passion for teaching the Word of God to the people and training the congregation how to walk with Jesus and become more like Him. Daniel & Luz are excellent leaders and are excited about the two-year School of Ministry where the adult students are being equipped to serve locally and maybe even plant a church someday.

Where We Serve

The community is called Vista del Valle and is located in far northeast Tijuana, Mexico. It is hard soil spiritually speaking. Many people have been taught strange doctrines or have rejected church altogether. It takes all they have to survive economically. We believe it is important to REACH the people with love and the truth! It takes years to build their trust and teach them about the HOPE that is found in Jesus Christ and how to be set free from their painful past. It is a blessing to be used by God in this community.

Statement of Faith

-We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

-We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

-We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

-We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

-We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

-We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

-We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
